Frequently Asked Questions
Does my family need to be Orthodox to attend Light of Christ Preschool?
No! Light of Christ Preschool is a ministry of Saint Spyridon Orthodox church; all are welcome to attend our program.
Do you offer tours?
Of course!
Please reach out to us at preschool@saintspyridon.church to schedule a tour.
How are school closures decided/handled?
LOC Preschool follows the school closures of Thompson School District (Loveland Schools).
When the district schools are closed, LOC is closed as well.
Does your academic year match Thompson School district?
Generally, yes; we follow the Thompson School District with the exception of Orthodox feast days, which sometimes differ from Western holidays.
Take a look at our yearly calendar for our planned holiday closures.
Do you accept children with special needs?
Parents must disclose their child’s individual needs prior to the first day of school, so that Light of Christ may make an individualized assessment about whether they can meet the particular needs of a child with a disability. The Director may request a discussion of needs with parents and initiate collaboration with existing community services to design individual activities to aid in meeting the child’s learning and developmental goals. The Director reserves the right to make recommendations based on Light of Christ Preschool’s staff’s ability to adequately meet each child’s needs. Our goal is to have inclusive, positive experiences for all children and families.
Light of Christ Preschool provides equal opportunities and services for children and parents in accordance with the ADA unless their presence would pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others or require a fundamental alteration of the program.
